Walking in Britain UK Long Distance Footpath South West Coast Path National Hiking TrailRest Day Options

Fowey with its natural harbour is the most stunning location on the route and around halfway with lots to explore and great restaurants and atmosphere. You can also hire boats or take Canoe trips with Encounter Cornwall in Wind in the Willows country paddling upriver on hidden creeks to Lerryn

The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan

The superb and unique Eden Project  is only two miles from the coast path at the historic harbour of Charlestown and makes for a great rest day. Also accessible from Fowey.

The fascinating jungle like Lost Gardens of Heligan - works well with a rest day in the fishing village of Mevagissey. You can take an easy 4 mile circular walk to visit the project - or if you want a day without walking buses run back and forth from the harbour.
