Pembrokeshire Coastal Path West - Wales Coast Path

Porthclais port near St Davids Pembrokeshire

Overview of The West Sections - Milford Haven (or Dale) to St Davids

Distance -  56 miles, depending on any inland diversions due to tides at two estuary crossings

Walking Grade -   An Easy start from Milford Haven around tidal creeks, before quickly becoming a moderate to strenuous trail over coastal cliffs and coves, with repetitive climbs and descents. What these grades mean.

Walk Summary - Tranquil Backwater creeks and tidal causeways lead the walker out of the Cleddau Estuary to reach the Atlantic Ocean at dramatic St Anne's Head.  Wild coastal headlands and offshore islands contrast with stretches of long golden sands and deep fjord like inlets all the way to the holy city of St Davids.  Overnight stops exclusively in small coastal hamlets and hidden fishing villages.
