Getting to and from the trail - Brixham, Torquay and Lyme Regis

If you ask us for a quote we will include public transport or parking information to suit your walking holiday and for those booking we advise and assist in helping you to work out and book the best travel options for your walk.

Arriving and departing by public transport works best for this route and saves a fairly long or expensive journey back to your car at the end of your walk though it is possible if you prefer to drive - see below

Jurassic Coast Path Devon arrival by trainTrain Arrival  - Fast direct trains run from London, The Midlands and the North to Paignton or Torquay Stations.  Fastest trains from London take around 3.5 hours via Exeter or Newton Abbott. To reach Brixham regular buses take 20 minutes from Paignton Station or 50 minutes from Torquay or we can arrange a private transfer if you prefer.

Train Departure -  From Lyme Regis regular buses take 20 minutes to reach Axminster Station (or we can arrange a transfer). Trains from Axminster run directly to London Waterloo taking 2 hours and 43 minutes.

You can also arrive or depart at both Teignmouth or Exmout which also have stations.

Parking information for the South West Coastal Path DevonCar -  Long stay parking is available in Brixham and Lyme Regis. Getting back to your car by public transport takes a good 3 hours using the Jurassic Coast Bus service from Lyme Regis to Exeter from where you take a train to Paignton and 20 minute bus onto Brixham. We can also quote on private transfers direct from Lyme to Brixham.

Public Transport Information for Devon Coast Path Walks Coach Arrival -  National Express Coaches from London run to Brixham with connections from other parts of the UK - there are more options to Paignton and Torquay with local bus transfers onto Brixham.

Coach Departure - There are no direct coaches to London from Lyme Regis but you can take local buses to nearby Bridport OR Honiton to connect with National Express Coaches - ask for advice.

Great Britain Walking Tours and Hiking Holidays in Devon overseas informationArriving from Overseas - Those arriving from overseas will usually arrive in the UK at London Gatwick or London Heathrow airport from where you can catch direct trains to Paignton or Torquay for Brixham Those arriving at London Heathrow will usually take a 1/2 hour underground train / overland train service into London Paddington to catch the fast inter city trains to Devon.   Bristol and Exeter airports are close to the walk and also have a number of international flights

Internal Flights - Exeter airport allows easy access to the starting points at Brixham. From Exeter Train station its only around 45 minutes by train to Paignton and 20 minutes onwards to Brixham on the bus.  Departure back to Exeter Airport from Lyme Regis can be made in around 2 hours. The Jurassic Coastline bus X53 direct to Exeter from where you take a taxi or bus to the airport.
