Cape Cornwall South West Coast Path Lands End Way Walking Break

Yet another distinctive and much painted landmark built in the 1850s, at the foot of this craggy peninsular is the former count-house, or main offices, for the mine along with miners cottages.

Passing now out of the main mining reserves you find the older remains of activity with  leats ( waterways) and tin streaming works as you drop into and climb back out of the lush Cot Valley.

As you approach Sennen the mining is all still around you and if anything in even more precipitous locations but the shafts and Adit (tunnels) become more hidden within the cliffs and slopes  the South West Coast Path itself having to twist through several switchbacks to avoid open shafts that sit on the route.
